When harmful wastes produced as a result of digestion are not naturally ejected out of the body, they are removed by therapists using external equipments. This removal of toxic harmful material out of the body is known as colon cleansing. In the past few years, colon cleansing by using enemas became quite common. This technique includes the introduction of jets of water into the intestine, which in turn flushes harmful wastes out of the body. However, this process is just able to clear one fifth part of the large intestine and has been a cause for other health concerns.
With the development of science and technology, nowadays many methods of colon cleansing are available in the market and you can choose the one that suits you the most. However a more important question is whether the method of colon cleansing is safe for the rest of the body or not.
Most first timers have a few doubts and wrong notions about colon cleansing. A few of these include:
- Pain: new users of the technique think that insertion of any foreign item inside the body might be painful. However the fact is that Colon cleansing is mostly “refreshing” and most of the times do not cause any pain to the patient being treated.
- Effect of treatments: another major concern among people is the depth to which the treatment penetrates. This effects the benefits brought to the person being treated. For example enemas used earlier affect only the initial eight to twelve inch part of the colon and cause the removal of just twenty percent fecal matter stored in the colon. The remaining part of the large intestine still remains full of waste and harmful bacteria. The fact is that colon cleansing treatments now available in the market penetrate quite deeply and cause a thorough cleansing of the entire colon, leaving little or no fecal matter stored inside the intestine. The methods available nowadays are extremely safe and cause no harm when conducted in under the supervision of a hydrotherapy specialist.
- Risk of contamination: this is one of the biggest concerns that most people have about the methods of colon cleansing, is the risk of contamination or infection due to the entry of foreign apparatus in the body. A person might get exposed to harmful viruses and bacteria that might cause more harm than good. With the advancement in science and technology equipments like disposable pre-sterilized tips and hoses are used for such therapies. These ensure a colon cleansing experience that is free of germs and bring lots of benefits to the human health.
